STOCK ALERT - HK-listed TCL Communication flat, Multimedia higher after

HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - TCL Communication Technology Holdings Ltd was flat
after profit-taking erased the gains made initially after the company
announced a reversal of a year-earlier loss to a net profit in the first half
to June.
Affiliate TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings was higher after the firm
reported a narrowing of losses for the same period.
TCL Communication was flat at 0.26 hkd, while TCL Multimedia was up 0.005
hkd or 1.04 pct at 0.485.
TCL Communication yesterday announced first-half net profit of 2 mln hkd,
turning around from a loss of 71 mln a year earlier.
TCL Multimedia reported that its net loss for the period narrowed by 86
pct to 220 mln hkd from 1.6 bln a year earlier.
The two Hong Kong-listed companies are both subsidiaries of
Shenzhen-listed TCL Corp.
