Prosten sees search business getting big boost from China 3G launch - report

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Prosten Technology Holdings said demand for its business will be boosted by the introduction of third-generation phone networks in China, expected sometime next year, the South China Morning Post reported, citing chairman company Dennis Yip Heon Wai.

Prosten's search technology helps mobile-phone users search for music to download to handsets.

""The wider the telecommunication bandwidth, the greater the demand for music search activity among handset users,"" the Hong Kong newspaper cited Yip as saying.

""The mobile music search industry in China will grow very rapidly in coming years, following successful market growth in Japan and South Korea,"" he added.

Hong Kong-based Prosten is looking to the 3G network, which allows faster downloads of songs, video and other data, to help consolidate its recent strong earnings.
