Hong Kong-listed Hembly forms China apparel JV with Benetton Asia

HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - Hembly International Holdings Ltd said its unit
Limei International Ltd has entered into an agreement with Benetton Asia
Pacific to set up a joint venture company called Benlim Ltd that will serve
as the exclusive distributor in China for Benetton Asia's parent Benetton
Group SpA.
Hembly chairman Ngok Yan Yu said Benlim, which will be held 50-50 by
Limei and Benetton Asia, will set up a subsidiary on the mainland, named
Shanghai Sisley Trading China Ltd, to act as its operational vehicle and
conduct Benlim's business there.
Benlim and Shanghai Sisley will be principally engaged in the
manufacture, marketing and promotion, distribution, wholesaling and retailing
of Benetton's Sisley brand products in China.
Ngok did not disclose the investments that will be made by Hembly and
Benetton Asia in their joint venture projects.
