Malaysia's TA Enterprise says not aware of CITIC's interest

KUALA LUMPUR (AFX-ASIA) - Brokerage TA Enterprise Bhd said it has no
knowledge of China International Trust and Investment Corp (CITIC)'s interest
in the company.
""After due diligent enquiry with all directors, and all such other
persons reasonably familiar with the corporate affairs of the company, we
wish to inform the Exchange that the company has no knowledge of what is
reported in The Edge's article dated August 16, 2004,"" TA said in response to
a query from the Exchange.
The Edge reported, citing unnamed sources, that a company linked to CITIC
is holding high level talks with TA group's largest shareholder Tony Tiah
Thee Kian.
The newspaper said CITIC may be considering proposals which could see the
Chinese investment group coming in either at the TA Enterprise Bhd level or
at the group's stockbroking level.
