STOCK ALERT - HK's Kantone up in afternoon on strong earnings results

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Kantone Holdings Ltd (1059.HK) extended gains in
the afternoon on strong full-year to June results, dealers said.
Kantone rose 0.047, or 45.63 pct, to 0.15 hkd on volume of 35.44 mln
shares.
The company, which is engaged in the sales of general systems products
and software licensing, said it returned to the black for the year to June
with a net profit of 110.34 mln hkd from a net loss of 2.58 mln a year
earlier.
""The stock topped gainers today,"" a local trader noted, saying investors
were encouraged by the earnings results.
