Tianjin TEDA 9 mths to Sept net loss widens due to higher selling/admin costs

HONG KONG (AFX-ASIA) - Tianjin TEDA Biomedical Engineering Co Ltd (8189.
HK) said its net loss in the nine months to September widened to 5.836 mln
yuan from a loss of 3.736 mln a year earlier, led by higher selling and
distribution expenses, as well as higher R&D and administrative costs.
Sales rose by 7.6 pct at 21.865 mln yuan from 20.323 mln previously due
to improved sales of its sugar-free mooncakes.
During the period, sales from its diabetic health products
surged 20.193 mln yuan from 15.669 mln, while other medical and
health products fell to 1.67 mln from 4.652 mln.
Gross profit margin rose from 49 pct to 52 pct.
Operating loss stood at 5.688 mln yuan from a loss of 3.002 mln while
finance costs hit 1.019 mln from 417,000 the year before.
Loss per share stood at 0.01724 yuan from 0.01245. No interim dividend
was declared.
