DJ MARKET TALK: China Shares Down, Led By Airline Stks

| 0952 [Dow Jones] China shares open lower, led by airline stocks after China Eastern Airlines (600115.SH) posts huge 2008 loss. Shanghai Composite Index now down 0.4% at 1897.27, tipped to consolidate in 1850-1900 range today, says Chen Jinren at Huatai Securities. "Some investors are taking profit after Friday's rise as China Eastern's weak data suggests corporate earnings will still be a concern." China Eastern Airlines down 1.6% at CNY4.41, Air China (601111.SH) down 2.0% at CNY4.36. Oil companies down on lower crude, with Sinopec (600028.SH) down 1.1% at CNY7.06, PetroChina (601857.SH) down 1.1% at CNY10.10. Shenzhen index last +0.2% at 587.28.(WYL)
