DJ MARKET TALK: China Shares Slip But Shanghai May Try 2000 Soon

1005 [Dow Jones] China shares slightly lower after rising past two days; Shanghai Composite Index down 0.4% at 1931.17 and tipped by analysts to consolidate around current levels. "The markets are taking a rest after previous rallies, but the Shanghai index will break the key 2000 level in coming sessions given the positive global markets," says Wang Junqing at Guosen Securities. China Construction Bank (601939.SH) down 1.0% at CNY3.93 on news Bank of America raised US$2.8 billion by selling 5.6 billion CCB H shares at HK$3.92 apiece; elsewhere, PetroChina (601857.SH) down 0.6% at CNY10.53, Air China (601111.SH) down 0.7% at CNY4.33. Shenzhen index down 0.1% at 585.88.(WYL)
