STOCK ALERT - Hong Kong's i-CABLE slumps after privatization hopes dashed

HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - i-CABLE Communications Ltd shares were sharply lower
after its controlling shareholder, Wharf (Holdings) Ltd, decided today to drop a
proposed privatisation for the unit.
At 10:31 am, shares of i-CABLE fell 0.05 hkd or 7.7 pct to 0.6, while Wharf was
up 0.2 hkd or 1.2 pct at 17.0.
i-Cable's shares rose over 22 pct before being suspended on Nov 28 on
privatization talk.
Trading in the company's share resumed today.
